Handprint Dinosaur

This week we created a fun Handprint Dinosaur to go along with our Safety theme and the book How Do Dinosaurs Stay Safe. We got the idea from an image I found on Pinterest, but it didn’t lead to a blog post and I couldn’t find a dinosaur template to use. Because of this, I wanted to share our project on the blog and offer a free printable template for anyone who wanted to do this project with their little one!

I printed off our template and Rilynn chose the color of dinosaur (construction paper) that she wanted. I also gave her a ton of googly eyes so she could pick one. She used glue to attach the dinosaur and eye to a piece of cardstock. Then we took a look at all of our paints and she decided she wanted purple spikes. I squirted a little onto a plate and she added handprint spikes until she was content.

She asked me to draw a pink bow to make her Handprint Dinosaur complete. This was a fun, easy project that a toddler can do practically on their own. What fun dinosaur projects have you discovered to do with your little one?
